About clay away
We’re a female-founded pottery studio offering private parties across London, pottery courses and taster classes in our studio in Leyton, and ticketed events like pottery in the pub.
Clay away studio is a colourful and playful space, which reflects our ethos of using clay as a tool to explore your creativity, relax and have fun. We focus on the mindful benefits of pottery to ease stress and anxiety, and bring some creative joy to your week.
We’re committed to being an inclusive space, so welcome students of all abilities and backgrounds, from total beginners to those looking to hone existing skills. Our personalised and flexible teaching style means we can adjust classes and workshops to your needs and requests.
Why choose us?

Personal touch
As a small, friendly business we're committed to being an inclusive space. We welcome students from any background and ability, offer payment in instalments at no extra cost to you and are a step free venue with wheelchair access. We can customise our private workshops to fit with your event and can offer taster classes on custom days and times to suit you. Just get in touch and we’ll do our best to make it work!

Small groups
For our courses and classes in the studio, we only take 2-4 students so you get heaps of hands on tuition. Most teaching studios have huge classes where you’re fighting for the teacher’s attention, but not here. This also means the teaching can be tailored to your needs and experience level.

We bring the clay to you!
For our private group workshops, we'll bring the clay to your location of choice across London. Learning ceramics is usually confined to a studio space, but we've developed a fun and mess-free pottery workshop which can take place in the comfort of your own office, home, bar or venue.

Unique space
Our studio space is a working studio founded by four, female potters. It means the studio has been set up to be a friendly and joyful place to be, with top quality, professional grade equipment and tools. It also means you’ll be learning surrounded by the work of four very different but equally amazing, professional potters. What more inspiration could you need!
Meet the team

Florence Mytum
