Learn to Throw on the Pottery Wheel

Join us in our bright, Leyton studio to learn the basics of throwing on the potter's wheel. This relaxed, friendly, and informative workshop is perfect for beginners looking to experience a taste of the ceramics process, or for those with some experience wanting to build on their skills. It’s ideal as a date night or unique experience with friends and family. With a maximum of 2-3 participants this intimate workshop means you'll get heaps of hands-on support as you learn. Unlike most teaching studios which have huge numbers of students, you won’t be fighting for the teacher’s attention. In this two-hour long class you’ll learn about clay preparation, body positioning, and the techniques of wheel-throwing. You’ll have plenty of time on the wheel to give it a go and practice what you’ve learned. Most students end up making two small bowls or pots to keep, and your teacher will be on hand the whole time providing hands-on support as you go. After the workshop you can choose up to two of your favourite pots to keep and select your glaze from our large range of beautiful colours. We’ll then fire your pots for you so they’re fully functional and will send them to your chosen UK address (or have them available to collect) in around 4-6 weeks' time. Everything is included and there are no extra costs! Good to know o Want to come at a date and time not displayed, or with a larger, private group? No problem! Just send us a message and we can get it arranged. o Wheel-throwing is a messy business! Aprons will be provided and clay washes out easily, but we recommend wearing something comfortable that you don't mind getting dirty. o You may want to cut your nails before coming as this can make it easier, but it's not essential. o We’re on the ground floor with step free access.
